The Log Room
Being asked to help with the interior design of The Log Room was a real privilege. The brief was to create something different, something unique for Helmsley. The owner was willing to be brave with colour and did not hesitate when black for the downstairs was suggested. Once we had decided on the colours, I suggested the use of logs on the walls and as partitioning. Hence the name developed during the refurbishment. The owner had already decided on the lighting which I love as it gives the restaurant a modern, industrial feel.
Upstairs, we decided on two gorgeous deep colours, a bold red and a beautiful green. By using the same style of artwork throughout the restaurant, the two areas link well and complement each other. The owner had the fantastic idea of playing black and white films on a wall at the top of the stairs, again something eccentric, which adds to this very warm and welcoming atmosphere.
